3 Easy Steps to Tackling a Feeling of Discouragement
Have been working toward a dream or goal, but you feel discouraged because you’re not reaching it yet? Are you feeling overwhelmed because you think you should be doing more to make your dream happen? Or is someone in your life coming up with ideas for you on how to reach your dream but they involve way more work than you have the time or energy for?

Isn’t it so frustrating and discouraging when we pursue a dream, we put in all the work, and then we wait. And wait. And wait…?
I’ve talked about impatience and frustration and the waiting phase, but I wanted to touch on the idea of feeling discouraged. It’s draining. Spiritually and motivationally draining. And you wonder if it will ever happen. You wonder what the point is of continuing to pursue the dream. Maybe you’re not ready to throw in the towel yet, but you’re seriously wondering if things will ever work out.
So, what do you do when you’re feeling discouraged? Here are some things that help me when I’m not feeling my best.
1. Drink water and get the blood pumping.
This is probably the oldest trick in the book. Our bodies survive on hydration, so give yours plenty of water. And get the blood pumping by turning on some dance music and moving to the beat. If you want to do a full workout session, that’s great, too. And a lot of times when I’m feeling uninspired or tired, I feel thirsty, too.
So, try this method first. Water is also helpful in getting the energy flowing inside the body, and that will help with tips 2 and 3.
2. Listen to positive energy music on YouTube.
There are so many great audios for a variety of energy frequencies. They’re calming, inspiring, motivating. Search for ‘high energy frequency music’ or ‘high frequency energy healing’ and you’ll find lots of videos to choose from. Then turn on the music while you work.
3. Tap away the self-doubt and feeling of discouragement.
It’s one thing to declare that we are no longer going to allow ourselves to be limited and controlled by self-doubt and discouragement. But it’s quite another, and way more effective, to tap on it. We can do a full-on tapping session, calling out all of the feelings that we’re experiencing now, or we can tap on the points as we repeat positive affirmation statements.
If there are any negative emotions, it’s best to tap on those first (that’s the best and most effective method of EFT/Tapping), but if you only have a few minutes, tapping while saying positive statements can help you feel better right away.
