3 Steps to Tackling Annoyances with EFT/Tapping

Feeling annoyed? I’ve got you covered.

Did you get some unsolicited advice? Is your pet misbehaving? Is the computer giving you fits?

Isn’t it funny how annoyances just seem to pile up? Okay, maybe it’s not funny. Not funny YET!

Did you laugh just now? No? All right. Let’s change that.

When those annoyances won’t let up, there’s only one thing you can do. Well, actually, if it deals with a pet or another person, there are two things, but I want to save that for another article.

So, what’s today’s tip? It sounds simple enough, and it is super simple to implement with a little tapping. Here goes – change how you feel about it.

I know what you’re thinking. That is easier said than done.

But hear me out…

If it’s advice you received, you must ask yourself this all-important question: why am I annoyed by this advice?

If something is annoying you, there’s likely an underlying cause. We react to things based on how we feel. If we’re frustrated in business, for instance, getting some unsolicited advice can be extremely annoying.

So, the process here is to tackle the underlying causes so such things like unsolicited advice or inquiries about your business don’t trigger an emotional response in you.

It is totally possible to get to a serene state of I simply don’t care, so that when something comes up, something that would normally have triggered you in the past, something that would have annoyed or irritated you, simply has no effect. That’s where we want to be because that state will help keep us in alignment with all that we are manifesting into our lives.

I want to give you some guidance for tackling this annoyance issue with EFT/Tapping. If you haven’t tried it yet, get ready to be blown away! With consistent tapping (or even just one session, in some cases!), you can start to see some big results.

So, here’s what you do…

1. Get clear and dig deep.

Take some time to consider this question: what are you annoyed about and what might be the underlying cause?

2. Recognize that you can only control the things that are within your control.

Focus on the things that you can easily control, like your behaviors and reactions.

With that being said, there’s some gray area here because it’s not clear what is actually within our control. There are ways to influence the things around us. But that’s a whole other topic which we will dig into later.

3. Tap on the acupressure points.

As you tap, bring up all of the annoyances and the underlying causes, if you know them. Use setup statements like the following:

  • Even though I feel so annoyed, I choose to love and accept myself anyway.
  • Even though these annoyances just won’t let up and they’re driving me crazy, I choose to honor how I feel and love and forgive myself anyway.
  • Even though I just feel so tired with the constant irritations, I choose to love and accept myself anyway.

Then go into the next section of tapping with phrases and statements like these:

  • I feel so annoyed.
  • Every time I turn around there’s yet another thing that annoys me. And it’s driving me crazy.

Keep tapping on the acupressure points and bringing up all that you can think of. Work through it and say what you’re feeling.

Then I like to consider the idea that maybe a person is acting a particular way because of how he or she was raised or what the person was taught to believe. That doesn’t necessarily make it okay, but it may encourage a little empathy within you which might help to diffuse the negative thoughts or feelings you have.

There is so much more involved with tapping and oftentimes it takes a personalized script to tackle all the issues, but what I’ve outlined above is the main idea.

Happy Tapping!
