How to Recover From a Bad Day So You Can Get Back to Work

Do you ever have those days when things are going great and then something comes up and throws you off course? And then you do a little tapping because you’re not going to let this thing get the best of you. So, you start feeling great again and you get back to work, but then as you’re sitting at your desk, you start feeling uninspired and unmotivated again. And before you know it, you’re heading to the couch to binge-watch TV.

What on earth just happened?

But it’s too late. There’s no going back to work now. You’re already comfy on the couch. Suck it, productivity.

Does that ever happen to you?

If it does, you are definitely not alone.

But while we throw all productivity to the wind—those dreams and aspirations can wait another day—there has to be a way to overcome this.

It’s all fine and good to take a day off work and push aside any other responsibilities. But what if you really are serious about being productive? What if you get mad at yourself because you let this take control of your day again?

There has got to be a solution. Something that keeps you working at being productive. Something that motivates you enough to stick through the lack of motivation.

They say that misery loves company. And a lack of inspiration loves it when we procrastinate.

There is probably no real answer to this question: why would you rather spend your time binge-watching TV instead of being productive? Because the reality is, you don’t. It’s just you do it because you don’t feel like doing anything else.

But how do we get past this? How do we keep fighting for the control when we are so quick to give it up? Is there any way to salvage a day that is heading in a downward path to unproductivity? How do we put up a road block and a detour sign that sends us straight back to work?

We’ve already tapped for this once, maybe even twice, and immediately felt great afterward. But the issue keeps popping up and won’t leave us alone. So, what do we do?

The quick answer for this would be to keep tapping and playing positive energy music in the background. But that takes persistence.

Maybe the real answer is that it is a sign of an underlying issue that needs to be addressed. Maybe you need to set stronger boundaries. Maybe you need more self-control. Maybe you need to develop a better routine. Or maybe you need a list of tasks that can be completed without the use of laser-sharp focus. Maybe it’s time to assess your diet or get checked out for nutritional deficiencies since they play such a vital role in our mental health.

Whatever the answer, there are likely multiple parts to it. More tapping will definitely help. But you will need to physically do the tapping to gain the benefits and the insights. And maybe the only way through this issue is with prevention rather than mitigation. Prevent it from happening by putting certain processes in place and you won’t have to deal with it again.

But what are those processes?

That’s where it gets tricky, and it takes some trial and error. But with tapping though, we can figure out solutions much quicker. We can get to the heart of these underlying issues and tap them away for quick results.
