Benefits of Seeing a Professional for Mental or Emotional Therapy
Did you know that about 42% of Americans have seen a counselor at some point in their lives? And nearly 30% have seen a therapist in the past year during the coronavirus pandemic? That’s an increase from 9.5% for people who had received counseling or therapy from a mental health professional in 2019.
It seems Americans are relatively comfortable with the idea of seeking counseling from a professional.
And that’s great! Because there’s nothing wrong with it. And it can be hugely beneficial.
Sometimes you just need an outside source. Someone who can be a voice of reason. Someone who can tell you that you’re not crazy, that what you’re feeling is perfectly normal, that other people feel that way sometimes, too. Someone who can listen to what you’re saying and how you’re saying it. Someone who can read you through your body language and speech patterns. And someone who can give you professional advice.
Not to mention, a professional, as an outsider, can see or perceive things that we fail to notice or realize on our own.
Most people are familiar with the general sense of psychological therapy. They think of family counselors, psychologists, and psychiatrists. But there are other specialists in the field. And other approaches to therapy as well. One of those approaches is energy healing, and within that approach are multiple modalities, including acupuncture, Reiki, and EFT.
I fell in love with EFT (short for Emotional Freedom Techniques and also known as tapping) in my twenties and have been using it ever since. Because it’s such a beneficial practice, one from which I have benefited greatly, I became a Certified Master EFT Practitioner so I could help others achieve emotional freedom, discover their soul’s purpose, and live their best lives.
One of the many things I love about my work as a certified EFT practitioner is that EFT is an extremely effective method of therapy. It’s a healing modality that uses acupressure points in the body to get a person’s energy flowing and to neutralize the impact of negative emotions, subconscious blockages, and limiting beliefs. And it’s truly shocking what one can accomplish with EFT/Tapping in terms of mental and emotional healing. Especially in short periods of time.
While tapping is a great tool for releasing negative emotional blockages and it can be effective when done on our own, an outsider can see things differently and a certified EFT practitioner has the training to guide clients in such a way that allows for quicker results. The practitioner can get to the bottom of an issue, the root cause or heart of the matter, and guide you in a tapping exercise to tap away the emotional blockages.
So, if you are considering consulting with a therapist, why not give EFT a try?
