Learning Self-Love with EFT Tapping

Do you struggle with meeting personal goals? Do you always put other people’s needs above your own? Do you feel like people are always taking advantage of you? And now you’re starting to feel like no matter what you do or what goal you have, you’ll never reach it because there is always someone who pops up with a request?

If you have a giving personality or feel the need to please others over yourself, reaching your own goals may seem virtually impossible, especially if you are pulled away every time you try to focus on working toward them.

Maybe you’re trying to develop a new habit, so on top of getting distracted by this particular someone or thing, you’re struggling to get in a groove. And since it takes about 21 days of consistency to develop a habit, we can see how hard it is to stick with something.

If this is you and your situation, you are not alone. And it’s time for some self love. So, here are some tips on how you can use EFT/Tapping to love yourself more and start putting yourself first.

If the part about putting yourself first made you feel weird, these steps are definitely for you. There is likely some underlying emotion that makes you believe your dreams and goals aren’t as important as someone else’s. I’m just going to put this out here right now – it is irrational for us to constantly put our dreams and goals aside for someone or something else. If there is a will, there is a way. We just have to stop sabotaging our own success.

Okay, let’s get started.

Before you start tapping, I want you to do one thing first: recognize that you need to start putting yourself first.

Once you’ve done that (or even if you haven’t just yet), start your tapping session. As you tap on the acupressure points, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Why are other people more important than me?
  • Why are other people’s time more important than mine?
  • Why do I have a hard time saying ‘no’?
  • When will I ever say ‘yes’ to myself?
  • Why do I keep putting off my dreams and goals?
  • What will happen if I start working toward my dreams and goals right now?
  • What beliefs do I have about my own success (or lack thereof)?
  • What am I afraid of? Am I afraid of success? Do I doubt my skills and abilities?

As you consider each answer, you may experience a shift in how you think about that particular question or the situation as a whole. Whatever revelations you have, write them down. And if you come up with more questions, ask those as well.

By going through this process, you’ll start to see how you can take steps toward loving yourself more and reaching your goals.

When we love ourselves and are truly happy, we are able to share that positive energy with others. And that’s a much lighter energy than what we were putting out before with all of those frustrations, lack of purpose, and the slew of other negative emotions that come with not reaching for our own goals.

Follow this process today and continue working through it over the next week or two or however much time you need. You will be so glad you did.
